Charge delivery by real distance, from your nearest store.
Nearship quotes local delivery at checkout from the store or warehouse closest to the customer. Distance bands, map-drawn zones and pickup points, with or without a Google API key.
● In development. Launching on CodeCanyon and at webkodingtheme.com.
The tools stores rely on stopped working
Google changed the API
Distance plugins built on Google's legacy Distance Matrix API fail on new Google projects with "REQUEST_DENIED". Nearship supports Google's current Routes API and alternatives, and it can run with no key at all.
One store is not enough
Bakeries, florists, pharmacies and restaurants often run more than one location. Charging from a single address overcharges half your customers. Nearship quotes from the nearest one.
Everything local delivery needs at checkout
Distance bands
Flat price per band or per-km pricing, base fee, minimum and maximum fee, free delivery above an order total.
Multiple stores
Add every store or warehouse. The quote comes from the nearest, and the order records which one ships it.
Zones drawn on a map
Draw where you deliver. Outside the zone, the customer sees your own message instead of a broken quote.
Pickup points
Let customers choose a pickup point at checkout. The choice is saved on the order and in the emails.
Modern checkout
Works with the classic checkout and WooCommerce checkout blocks, and with HPOS order storage.
Class surcharges
Add a surcharge for bulky shipping classes or a larger vehicle, on top of the distance price.
| Example rule set | Distance | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Around the corner | 0–5 km | €2.90 |
| Across town | 5–10 km | €4.90 |
| Suburbs | 10–25 km | €1.20 per km |
| Orders over €60 | any, inside zone | Free |
Pick your provider, or none
Road distance needs a routing provider, and some providers charge for usage. You choose one and pay it directly. If you don't want an API at all, straight-line distance and drawn zones work without one.
Questions
Do I need a Google API key?
No. Google is one option. Mapbox and OpenRouteService are others, and straight-line distance plus map-drawn zones need no key at all.
Will third-party APIs cost me money?
They can. Routing providers bill you directly according to their own pricing and free tiers. Nearship caches each address so the same customer isn't looked up twice.
Does it work with the new WooCommerce checkout?
That's a requirement for 1.0: both the classic checkout and checkout blocks, plus HPOS.
When can I buy it?
Nearship is in development. It will be sold on CodeCanyon and directly at webkodingtheme.com.
